Sailboat Example – Intermediate System

Overview

This intermediate monitoring system will monitor important parameters on your sailboat, displaying vessel heading, position, depth, speed, battery, shore power, temperatures, bilge pumps, doors and fire alarms on three sunlight readable displays. Even when you are off the boat, you can still receive status and alert text messages on your phone.

The following table shows the products included within this example system plus a list of the information or data available for display.

DSM410 Stbd Helm Pod Display Displays data in this list, monitors the data and sounds an internal or external buzzer if there is a problem and sends a text message out via the SMS100
DSM250 Nav Station display Displays data in this list, monitors the data and sounds an internal or external buzzer if there is a problem and sends a text message out via the SMS100.
SMS100 Texting module Sends text messages to one or more phone numbers when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limits
SSC300 Compass Monitors magnetic heading, rate of turn and pitch and roll
GPS200 Cabin top GPS Position, speed over ground, course over ground, time, date, magnetic variation and more
DST110 Depth/Speed/Water Temp Measures water depth, speed through water, sea temperature, trip log and cumulative log
SIM100 Switch indicator 3 high bilge water indicators, magnetic door switch, smoke/heat detector, CO detector
ALM100 Alarm buzzer Sounds a loud buzzer when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limit
DCM100 Battery monitor Monitors battery voltage, current, temperature, state of charge and time remaining
ACM100 Shore power monitor Monitors voltage, current, frequency and power
TMP100 Temperature monitor Monitors cabin temperature, engine room temperature, alternator temperature, refrigerator temperature
RIM100 Run indicator Monitors pump breaker status, pump run status, counts and times pump runs
