Can I use the RIM100 to indicate "Water In Fuel"?
The RIM100 can be used to monitor a Parker/Racor "Water-In-Fuel Detection Kit" (Part Number RK30880E) to indicate the presence of water in the fuel filter.
- First, make sure the RK30880E is properly connected and working (see attachment for wiring diagram).
- Next, connect the Yellow wire found on the RK30880E connector assembly to the V1+ terminal on the RIM100 and connect Black wire found on the RK30880E connector assembly to the V1- terminal on the RIM100.
- Finally, configure the DSM250 or N2KView displays for the appropriate indicator noting that voltage is present or "On" when there is no water in the fuel, so you will probably want to define the "On" indicator color to "none" (no-color). Likewise, the signal detected by the RIM100 is switched to ground or "Off" when water is detected, so you will probably want to set the "Off" indicator color to red.
