Word	Description
Omega navigation system	An obsolete worldwide, continuous, radionavigation system of medium accuracy that provideed hyperbolic lines of position through phase comparisons of VLF (10-14 kHz) continuous wave signals transmitted on a common frequency on a time-shared basis. The fully implemented system was comprised of eight transmitting stations.
one-way communication protocol	A protocol established between a talker and a listener in which only the talker may send messages [compare to Two-Way Communication Protocol]. NMEA 0183 is a One-Way Communication Protocol.
origin waypoint	The starting point of the present navigation leg.
outboard	Toward or beyond the boat's sides. A detachable engine mounted on a boat's stern.
overboard	Over the side or out of the boat.
