The SSC200 compass outputs heading information in magnetic form and before the DSM200 or DSM250 displays can show true heading, the variation must be known. One source of variation is the Maretron GPS antenna/receiver (GPS100). If an SSC200 and GPS100 are connected together with a display, the true heading can be computed and displayed on the DSM200 or DSM250. To view true heading on the DSM200 or DSM250, enter menu mode by pressing the enter key. Scroll to "Units?" and press enter. Scroll to "Heading:" and press enter. Scroll to "True" and press enter. Press the back key three times to return to normal screen viewing. If you try and select true and there is no variation source, the displays will not show the heading.
