Maretron's N2KView vessel monitoring and control software runs on dedicated hardware like Maretron's DSM800 or MBB100, or the N2KView software runs on Personal Computers (PC). Please see the file attached to the bottom of this article showing both the dedicated hardware vessel monitoring and control network diagram and the PC based vessel monitoring and control network diagram.
N2KView Running on Dedicated Hardware
When you
purchase N2KView, you get a hardwarelicense key or dongle that plugs into the USB
port of you vessel’s Internet Protocol Gateway (IPG100). The dongle comes with a single floating license that lets you
run a single version of N2KView either on dedicated hardware (i.e., Maretron's DSM800 or MBB100) or
from a PC that is networked with the IPG100. If you want to run N2KViewfrom different places
simultaneously, you need to purchase additional licenses.
