What does N2K^® mean?

Maretron uses the N2K^® acronym in a general sense to indicate the association with an NMEA 2000^® network. The “N” is a short way of saying NMEA and the “2K” is short for 2000. Of course, NMEA stands for the National Marine Electronics Association, which is the organization behind the marine industry’s newest open electronic networking standard called “NMEA 2000^®”.
